Takeshi Oto

Mr. Takeshi Oto, is the CEO of Vobile Japan.
Mr. Oto joined Vobile Group in 2018 as CEO of Vobile Japan. Before joining Vobile Japan, Mr. Oto started his career from Corporate R&D Center, Toshiba Corporation in Kawasaki, Japan. As a research scientist of digital video processing, he led the development team for the world first MPEG2 decompression LSI, which defined the LSI architecture for digital video processing in posterity, and has derived many video processing LSI generations used for digital TVs, DVDs, Blue Rays, video streaming decompressions etc. After his career in the R&D center, in 1994, he moved to Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. in Silicon Valley, San Jose, California as a Vice President. While he was in Silicon Valley for 13 years, he was responsible for System LSI development. He was also leading many collaborations and incubations between Toshiba and start-up companies in Silicon Valley by evaluating their technologies.
After he returned to Japan in 2007, he worked as a General Manager of System LSI marketing, planning and customer support department in Toshiba Semiconductor Company, Toshiba Corporation. He was controlling all worldwide system LSI business activities from Tokyo H.Q. in that position. His highlight in this period is that he achieved more than 70% market share of the main signal processing components in digital TV in 2011 when the Japanese TV broadcasting system changes from analog to digital. In 2013, he took a position of a Senior Fellow, Toshiba Corporation. Representing Toshiba system LSI engineering, he led joint developments with Google, Facebook and other Silicon Valley companies while he was a Senior Fellow. He has two faces. One is the face of researcher’s and engineer’s, and the other is business executive’s. Through more than 30 years carrier in a semiconductor industry, he has many human connections in Silicon Valley, Europe, Japan and Asian countries.
